License key
The E-Catch software can be obtained by contacting E-Catch Support (see appendix for contact details) or you can download the program from the website www.e-catch.co.uk
After installing, and during first start-up, the E-Catch License screen will be shown.
Fill in the code sent by E-Catch Support, or click on paste (when you copy and paste) and confirm.
If you apply for a temporary key you need to make sure you use the proper RSS code. A temporary key is valid for one month and you can only apply for it once. After this grace period has expired you will need to contact E-Catch for a valid license.
When a license key is inserted you will be prompted to insert the initial vessel information.
The field “Code” is embedded in the license key. Insert the vessel name in the box “name” and use the dropdown menu to select the vessel “country”. Prior to using the “Save” button fill in the radio call sign of the vessel in the box “Call Sign”. These values can be altered later in the configuration menu. See chapter 2.1 Vessel for this.
The completely filled out screen will look like below.
Please do pay attention as to whether the entered data is correct. The RSS code can be up to 6 characters long. This code is used in the exchange of information with the government; as such it is very important that the code is correct. If the RSS code is not correct you have to contact E-Catch support for a new license key.
After this the program will start and the opening screen will show. The next time you start the program it will automatically and immediately go to the opening screen.
